Your brand trusts us with its content, conversations, and connected accounts. This policy explains — in plain language — what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
01Who we are
alivesocially (“alivesocially”, “we”, “us”) provides a social media workspace for planning, creating, scheduling, and analyzing content across connected social channels, with optional AI assistance. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, create a workspace, or use our services.
For workspace content you manage through alivesocially, the business that owns the workspace decides why and how that content is processed, and we process it on its behalf.
02Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — your name, email address, password or sign-in credentials, and workspace and team settings.
- Workspace content — posts, captions, hashtags, drafts, media, templates, campaign plans, brand details, and messages you send to the AI assistant.
- Communications — what you send us through the contact form, email, or support requests.
Information from connected platforms
When you connect a social platform — such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, or YouTube — we receive the information you authorize through each platform’s official sign-in — such as page and account identifiers, access tokens, published posts, comments, and performance metrics. What we can access depends on the permissions you grant and each platform’s rules.
Information collected automatically
We collect technical and usage information such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and actions taken in the product, using cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for details.
03How we use information
- Provide the service — connect channels, schedule and publish posts, sync comments, and show analytics.
- Power the AI features you choose to use, such as drafting captions, planning campaigns, and briefings.
- Manage workspaces, team roles, and permissions.
- Keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
- Communicate with you about your account, changes, and support requests.
- Understand how the product is used so we can improve it.
- Meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.
04AI features
When you use AI features, the relevant content — for example your prompt, a draft, an uploaded image, or brand context — is processed to generate a response. We may use trusted third-party AI model providers to do this, under agreements that restrict their use of your data to providing the service to us.
The agent asks for your approval before publishing, scheduling, replying, or enabling AI automation. We do not use your workspace content to train third-party AI models.
05Legal bases for processing
Where laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, we rely on these legal bases:
- Contract — to provide the service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — to secure, support, and improve our service, where those interests are not overridden by yours.
- Consent — for optional cookies and certain communications; you can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — where the law requires us to process information.
07Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you disconnect a channel, we stop syncing data from it. When you delete your workspace or account, we delete or anonymize the related data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep it for legal, security, or accounting reasons.
08Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and limiting access to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
09Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Delete your information or close your account.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Receive your information in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent where we rely on it.
You can disconnect social accounts at any time from your workspace or from the platform’s own settings. To make a request, email privacy@alivesocially.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
10International transfers
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we protect these transfers with appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
11Children
alivesocially is built for businesses and is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, let you know through the product or by email.
